NHRA officials are present at only a few of the races ie. National meets, Div. points meets, National opens. Jegs super quicks, and ET finals. All the other thousands of races held at local tracks every weekend through the year, are done by the tracks themselves. Your tech official at the local level carries an NHRA bronze tech card, requirements for this card is, 6 hr. seminar once a year and an open book test every two yrs. Next level is silver card div. pts. meets, nat. opens. jegs series and ET finals, same seminar and testing procedure. Then there is the gold card. Test evey yr., and responsible for national events. The LED thingy is mandatory only at Nats, Div., Opens, and Jegs meets. If your track has one of these, then your track owner is taking them out afterwards. SOBs arn't they. In Ohio you hardly see a LED stop light, on a recent trip to Connecticut I noticed all lights were LED. There is only one way to change thing and that is to band together and bring your point home to the track owner. I've suggested that we post the problems at your track on PY Forums, with the E-mail address of the track and lets see what 8,000 E-mails saying "I won't race your track until you change _______ ( FILL IN THE BLANK). Did you ever try to read 20 E-mails its tough not to get the point. As for you Pdude even rules are different in different Divs. are not the same. Those tubing thickness are for all cars. Full cage thickness are 1 5/8" dia .118 mild and .083 molly. The cross bars in both rollbar and cage is only 1 1/4" dia. same thickness tubing.

BIGGERISBETTER-78 Catalina, 3650#, 13.750, 400 .060, 6x8, Q-jet. 15 yrs in NHRA tech ret. Next drag car, 78 Bonne Stationwagon.
