Let me say I've never used a Fram filter that was a direct replacement for the PF24 AC filter (the Fram PH25) so I have no opinion on those.
I've always used the HP1 filter with a remote setup utilizing Nunzi's plate that mounts on the block in place of the factory oil filter housing. Been using the HP1 in a remote setup for more than 5 years and never had any problems.
I realize others have had problems with the OEM replacement filters, however, but it hasn't deterred me from using the HP1 filter. Look at it this way. If you were going into a particular diner for 5 years and loved the food, and one person told you they went in there and thought the food sucked because they got sick after eating it, would you stop going to that diner?
