I believe that a 69 GTO uses the same set-up as on a 68 GTO. Look at the picture below.
You can buy the switch from PY, Year One and Ames to name a few suppliers. It mounts on the right front of the intake manifold in the forward water passage.
There is a GM Service Bulletin regarding the use of a distrubutor vacuum control valve for automatic vs manual transmission cars. Basically, the auto trans cars don't use the DVCV because it causes a clunking problem.
I have been looking for a DVCV for over a year without success. The part is discontinued.
I am running my Manual Trans car hooked up like an automatic trans car. Works fine.
