Sounds like a bad battery cable connection somewhere to me. Make sure the ends are tight on the battery and if you have the bolt on terminal ends they like to come loose from the cable over time and corrode. Check both ends of both battery cables. Watch your lights and wiggle both cables around. I think if it were a fusible link it would not have started working again for a little bit. Another time I had somethng like this happen my main firewall harness bolt was loose(holding underhood wires to fuse box). Tightened it up and was fixed.
