My son installed a dual electric fan in his '79 Z28 (455 powered) and after a few months I noticed he had tie strapped it to the aluminum radiator. They actually held up well, but I made him mount it right.
Here is a couple of shots of the Mark VIII electric fan. It fits the 1st generation Firebirds very well and flows between 4000-4500 cfm. Solved my cooling needs.
