I do not think there is any way to verify the engine # to a '65 GTO. They did not match to the VIN back then. I am unclear if PHS can match the engine ID # to the VIN but I don't think so. My PHS doc's do not have the engine ID# just the engine code which is WS. I suppose there is the possibility that the guy I bought it from put a different POP in the car. He told me he was the 2nd owner (actually I think he said the 3rd but he bought it from a family member of the original owner). If you have a WS engine and matching tranny and you cannot find the car I might be interested in purchasing the combo from you depending on the block casting date on the engine block.
