How did you deduce that I put it in the same class as the GTO when YOU brought the subject up? In a previous post you had accused me of not really being into cars because I drove a BMW and not being a "true Pontiac enthusiast" because I didn't drive my 70 Goat on a daily basis, but rather chose to garage it until it coud be restored. You further blathered on about how I didn't take care of it because the paint was faded, etc. As far as the GM Monaro: Pontiac built their design reputation on a "wide track" format. I would like to see them incorporate this into a modern day GTO similar to what Ford was able to due with the 2005 Mustang. The front end of the 'Stang looks aggressive with the hood extending over the headlights and a full length recessed grill. The backend still has some retro cues. The boys designing the c5 and c6 'Vette have wisely kept the distinctive tail light treatment retro as well. Hopefully GM will follow suit with a newly designed GTO.
