I converted my '72 LeMans from an auto to a manual last summer. Yeah, it was some work and took a couple bucks, but it is so much fun to run through the gears now.

Even though I installed a 5spd, I still installed a mechanical clutch (Centerforce DF) and Lakewood scattershield that are the same exact components used for 4spd cars. I bought most of the parts I needed to do the conversion from Performance Years (the company that sponsors this forum). PY didn't have the pedals I needed, but I think they offer a set that would fit your car along with just about all the other linkage you'll need.

I've got D-port heads on my car and run Doug's headers and have no clutch linkage clearance issues.
