If you want to see if there is any difference you could run a straight 10 ga wire from the + bat terminal to the "BATT" location on the cap and drive it and see. Gonna make shutting it off not too easy but for a quick test....
The other thing is this. I don't know about an Allen machine, (I suspect they are the same), But ANY, and I mean ANY, ghosted arrows on a Sun distributor machine someone may have down there, means bad pickup coil. Believe it! I don't care if it and the next 3 new pickup coils installed after it do the same thing, then you tell em I said all 4 are junk. so watch out for that.
