Install on the rear line. What you're trying to do is balance the brakes. If you gave all 4 corners the same (fluid) line pressure, the rears would lock when the weight transferred forward. You are using the valve to negate a percentage of rear (fluid) line pressure.
When you get the car back on the road, find an empty parking lot, lay down some water in a large patch on the asphalt. Drive through at 25-35 MPH and jump on the brakes, then get off of them. You want to get to the point that all 4 lock at the same time, then restrict the rears a little more at that point. Restricting it a little more will allow for highway/dragstrip hard stops without rear lockup.
