The LT-1 went in the Vette first, and the LS-1 is no more an "evolution of the LT-1" than it is of any other SBC. The LT-1 is a completely different engine than the LS-1. The LT-1 was basically an evolution of the old iron block SBC with aluminum heads and a few other mods.
