My son left the key on in my 63 for about 6 months while I was out of town. The Optima would blow the overload on my little battery charger after a few seconds so I took the battery back to the Optima shop and they said it was junk. I then took the OPtima to a shop down the street and they told me an Optima when totally discharged has a very high current draw to get it to take a charge and thats why it was tripping my little home charger. He said to leave it overnight and he pot it on his big shop charger. The next morning it was up to 14v and the guy wouldnt even let me pay for the charge. What a businessman, I certainly reccomended his shop to a lot of people.
The Optima lasted another 4 years after the Optima shop told me it needed to be replaced.
