Same here im running a 455 with a TH 350 tranny and its fine.
The rear i was running was outa my old 81 Turbo Trans am and its the SAME as all the rear in the Second Gen TA's so dont worry about tearing it up.
MAny guys running into the 9s on these rear ends.
And if you go with a 455 and the rear in your TA has 3.08 gears dont worry you will have plenty torque to get going with that high ratio, its what i was running.
