The cylinder head that was formerly being done by DCI is now in the hands of ALLPONTIAC. After speaking with Don about the details on this head, I have informed Bob to look into this. Now, it is a reality. This head will have no competition. The design of this head far exceeds the Super Chiefs and the quality will be excellent. The potential is alot more than most know. This head will be the head that can handle the 541 inch race engines, yet will have alot of room for more work for the bigger, tall deck versions. M.R.E will be receieving one of the first sets of heads for testing purposes, as well as what could be the first engine buildup using these heads, like I did with the IA2 block. There will be a buildup, unsure of the cubic inch, but will be a standard deck block, using the new ALLPONTIAC Tiger head, and dynoed all for testing purposes. I for one am excited to see this become a reality. This cylinder head raises the bar for normally aspirated power, as well as forced induction, nitrous, etc... Port volume on these heads will not be matched by any head currently available, and with the pushrod moved, and wide ported, these heads will see port volumes never seen by Pontiac heads yet. As Bob has mentioned, it will be a little while before some are available, and enogh testing is done for us to see the true capability of these heads, but rest assured nothing will happen unless the guys from ALLPONTIAC are assured they will be the best. Keep an eye out in the comming months for some good articles on the buildups, mine included, as well as Spotts and Ceralli's on the IA2 blocks...And any of you planning on building some race engines for the spring, you may want to hold on your cylinder head choice for a little while longer. Preliminary testing shows this head will be the one to own for maximum power.
