You won't know for sure if you need the divider until you open her up and check the old one. The new ones from PY are stainless and should last a good long time if you decide to change it. I guess it all just depends on whether or not you want to have all the parts you might need on hand when you start the job. If you don't mind waiting a few days to finish the project, you can get started and order the divider after you get a look at the old one.
