Well it is hard to tell, a LOT of them tick. Sounds ike a sewing machine when it first fires up cold or after it has sat for a while.
Where did you get extra thick cables? I am using brand new 4 guage. I doubt thicker cables will fit as these are a pain to get installed as it is. There is little room to work on the starter with HO manifolds, and the wire tube that mounts to the right motor mount.
And getting the starter in and out is also a real pain.
I have looked for 3 guage or even 2 guage and nobody has it, Advance, AutoZone and Pep Boys all have 4 guage.
