First off. Welcome to the board! It would help if you gave a little more information on what all cam with the car. The starter on he Chevy engine is on the right side of the block, Pontiac has it on the left side. Chevy has a different bellhousing bolt pattern than a Pontiac, so you will need a Chevy transmission or an adapter, if it's an automatic. If it's a manual, it should bolt up to the Chevy bellhousing but you'll need the correct clutch discs for the splines on the input shaft. When you have more questions, and you will, throw them out here and someone will answer them. Incidentally, I'm totally against putting a Chevy in a Pontiac, but since you bought it that way, figured that I would try to help.
