It is my understanding that "pusher" fans are a bad idea. They actually ristrict airflow at cruise speed (exactly where you are having you're problem). Since you've already done the "water pump clearance thing" I would remove the pusher fan.
Also, timing and fuel mixture will affect temps. (But I would start with the fan.)
