Another possible reason aircraft engines operate on av-gas, O.K. a few. 1 they have mixture controls to keep the engine from leaning out. 2 They also have cylinder head temp guages and exhaust temp guages and cowl flaps to keep engine at the perfect temperature, also they run at lower rpm's, not sure of the rpm effect though.
