when I swapped to a th400 in my 65 conv we had to fabricate and weld crossmember attachment plates to the frame to mount the tranny, since the frame is boxed I couldnt just slide the x-member back and drill holes. I dont know how much you need to allow for but it is something to think about. convertible frames are always boxed and use a different crossmember than coupes,htops.
