My daily driver '69 LeMans has the original 350 in it. It runs 14.60's at the strip. Not a screamer by any stretch of the imagination, but it holds it's own.
The combo:
Stock bore and pistons
The stock heads got a port match and a little bowl work.
4 tube POS headers
Performer aluminum manifold I got for $20
600cfm Holley vac secondary carb. I'm going to find a Q-Jet for it though.
H-O Racing's HCO-2a cam
TH350 trans and a stock convertor
2.78:1 rear gears.
Rebuilt HEI w/AC Delco stock-style internals.
Eventually I'll take the 3.23:1 rear that used to be in my '71 and possibly a convertor with a little more stall. That will wake this car up quite a bit.
For now, it has A/C, a heater, a stereo, and gets me back and forth to work.
Whoops... Edited wrong post!
