It looks like everyone would have been happy if Pontiac had called this car a GT-37 Or LeMans GT or anything but GTO. While it does have GTO performance, maybe it would have been better to call it something else!?
As for Pontiac being saved by the GTO, that was never the reason for the car, the G6 will take care of that along with a lot of other good product like the V8 Grand Prix, etc...
