I'll end an auction early. Done it before, and I'll do it again. But, before you flip out, I'll tell you why.....

If someone e-mails me and asks me what it will take to end the auction "now", here is what I do. First, I tell them a price that is higher than what I wanted and also higher than what I believe the high bid will be. Then, I tell them I will only end the auction when the check arrives.

If they are willing to pay the price, plus get the $ to me before the auction ends, then I sell to them.

That's the only time I do it. Yes, its an auction, yes, I could (and frequently do) put it up for sale in other spots that are free, but lets face it, if I had to sell Pontiac parts on any Pontiac BB, I would still have every part I started with! No one here wants to spend a dime!

E-bay brings in the serious buyers that are willing to spend. That's why I advertise there and that's why I will continue to. Nothing is stopping any of you from asking the seller to end the auction early, you just don't want to pay him to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!
