the vari prime's an excellent product for adhesion.
i think, if you read the side of the can, it'll tell you what the pot life is. don't leave this in the gun like the old laquer primers. if you do you'll probably need a new gun.
the chromabase paint from dupont is a good paint but i'll agree with the above comments.
