IMO I don't think there is a reliable sender for the OEM gauge. While examining those in the past, the movement was very sloppy and inaccurate. Perhaps high pressure drove the movement to maximum and damaged it. You can take it apart & check, and perhaps even tighten up the slop in the mechanism.
