I installed my headers while lowering the motor in. But it looks like you could slide them up into the car with the engine in, you just might scratch the finish in the process. I would say do the headers at the same time, it only took me about an hour and a half to bolt the motor and headers in. As for price, call Pacific Performance Racing, Ken has a very good deal on Dougs headers.
