My dads 455 pontiac spun a rod bearing again, this block, formerly a 428 engine has done this twice before! It has aftermarket rods, pistons, and a medium sized hydraulic cam.
The 455 made approx ten 1/4 mile runs and blew up
again. Max RPMs at finish was between 5700-6000.
Is there some inherent oiling issues with this engine? This engine has had three different people rebuild it, machined, everything ground up, with same end results. It was aligned bored.
What is going on here??? And if its simply the rpms, what does everyone else do different that runs 12's, 11's, 10's and doesnt blow up? Thanks!
