60man......I called pertronix when I had that problem as well, as I understand it, ALL of the new pertronix are updated and you no longer have to wait anymore, If you send it back into pertronix they will give you a new model free.
Colorado.......Yes you can use MSD with pertronix, in fact the MSD instructions show you how to wire for pertronix, very easy, no problem I just did it on a car.
