My Doug's Headers are nickle plated, which is the standard finish. It is satin gray/silver color. Does not look like chrome or ceramic coating (at least none that I have seen) Before ordering I did some checking and was told that the nickle is effective at corrosion resistance but would probably turn blue near the heads from the heat. I have only run mine for a few hours and they are already blue there. Too soon to tell about corrosion resistance. Since the nickle is alledged to have good corrosion resistance and I do not have a show car and did not want to pay the extra money for ceramic coating. I figure if they do start to rust/corrode I will send them to be coated later. Sorry no photos.
The instructions indicated that you should raise the motor(one side at at time) to install and that you must install the passenger side first. I found that it was very tight but I was able to fit them in W/O raising the motor on either side. I did raise it on the drivers side to get better access to the center, rear bolt but I think could have done it W/O raising the motor at all.
Oil filter access is good. I have not tried it but it looks like I may actually be able to remove and replace the filter from the top.
Ground clearance is also good, better than any other 4 tube headers I have seen but they are below the crossmember so they can hit the road. I am hoping that with caution I can keep them from getting bashed. Good ground clearance was the main reason I bought the Doug's headers.
