Thank you one and all.

I'm gonna try leaving the glass in and just resealing around it because I don't think the leak is that bad, here's why;
1. the moulding was removed for polishing and
2. I had the spray gun nozzle literally inches from where the water entered in an attempt to clean off the soap.

Except for these 2 things I'm pretty sure the water wouldn't have "normally" even gotten in.
