Best I can tell, looking at charts in the old MPC carburetor charts, the non Ram Air 1970 455 GTO's used the following PN carburetors.

49 state auto: 7040268
49 state manual: 7040267
California auto: 7040568
California manual: 7040567

No mention is made in these charts concerning Ram Air GTO 455 carbs. However, in the application listings (which admittedly show replacement numbers ONLY), the Ram Air equipped 455's used the exact same carburetor as the Ram Air III and Ram Air IV 400's.

Marty P. sent several carburetors along with the 1970 455 Ram Air automatic GTO I just purchased from him. All but one are obviously NOT the carb which came on this car, but one MIGHT be. It's a 7040570, which in the 1970 carburetor charts shows to be OEM on a California equipped 1970 Ram Air 400.

Maybe Jon, Cliff, Rocky R. or Kenth will stop in and have better info.
