I personally prefer the 71-72 T/As over the 70 Ram III version. I think a blue 71-72 T/A 4-spd is more desirable than a 70 Ram III 4-spd. When it comes to deciding between a 71-72 automatic versus a 70 T/A, I still go with the 71-72. The tossup would be deciding between a 4-spd 70 and an automatic 71-72.
From a collectibility standpoint, the 71-72 4-spds seem to be more desirable. I had a 72 4-spd, and I didn't like it. The motor was so torquey, I used to go from 1st straight to 4th under most driving conditions. The 455HO is better suited to an automatic.
