I use one on my 69 firbird. I re-located the filter way up front to the radiator support. Its on the front passenger side of the support, It can not be seen unless I point it out to you and gets plenty of fresh air to aid in cooling. I can also change my filter without making a mess or even bending over, its right there.
There are plenty of places to mount it just take the adaptor with the filter mounted to it and place it in differant areas untill you find a place you will be happy with. Keep in mind when its time to change the oil its going to cover anything under it.
