I remember doing one years ago, I think you'll still need to pull the inner fender to weld the tab on. It goes on the outside of the frame, and you can't get there with the inner fender on, unless you want to notch the inner fender. (I've seen this done also, does look very nice, but you can't see it unless you're looking up under through the wheelwell or looking real close down under the hood). Good luck with your conversion. I was lucky as I had purchased a complete 4 speed parts car! (This was about 15 years ago)
