I'd be interested in another Texas area Pontiac race and/or show event as well.

As for my Formula's performance, disappointing to say the least, though seeing that some of y'alls cars, as well as Joe's Acadian, were slower this year made me think it wasn't a problem with my car. Joe's car normally runs 11.80's @ 115, and his best on Saturday was 12.40's @ 109!

Maybe the air was super bad, I dunno?

I'm just glad we went to the track Friday night, because it took me 10 runs to get rid of the horrible starting line bog and figure out the jetting. My best pass was a 13.07 @ 104, which is nearly 0.2 seconds and right at 2 MPH off what the car ran at last year's PSN's. I was finally able to achieve the car's best 60' time to date, a 1.792! Best last year was a 1.835. The engine just wasn't making enough power up high to run the 1/4 mie numbers.

After changing from the worn out OEM 3.08 rear to my Moser 3.42 12 bolt, new rear suspension, the MT street radials and finally getting my fuel system lined out, I was shooting for some 12.70's! Oh well, there's always next year - with my new Tom Hand / PYPES crossflow system! I might even go ahead and install Ron's Tri-Y headers as well.

On a brighter note, the 1972 WW5 GTO I just bought DID win the gold at Sunday's car show! Also, HPP contributor / photographer Randy Allen was very interested in the GTO. He called Tom DeMauro about the car, and as soon as I get the engine compartment properly detailed they are ready to shoot it for a feature article for HPP!
