I'd go auto, T-400 for consistency at the track. It's also easier to get off the line with the right converter set up. Although the manual trans is more fun on the street. Had the pleasure of driving a BBC 6-71 Camaro this week end with a Jeffco 4 speed (just like a Lenco, planetary with clutchless shifts) that was fun but at $4500.00 it's not a typical option for most of us.
