so these are wrong ? tell them the LS1 isnt a chevy smallblock and have them redo all their work and see what they tell you.

Those are GM books? Uh, think not.
Hey Don, learn how to resize some pictures ok? jeeezzzz

do you have jim hands new book? i assume you do. i also assume he knows his sh**. but wait its not a "GM book". not just anyone can write a book. it helps if they know what theyre talking about. cmon man get off the whole GM kick and back on the short bus. its almost as bad as you saying "its a pontiac because pontiac says so" when i asked you what part of the car was a pontiac.

So, you pick and choose who is correct about writing whether or not the LS1 is a "chevy small block"?
How about you, not someone else, but YOU give us the technical reasons why the LS1 is a "small block chevy"? Can you give us valid technical points that demonstrate that this engine is a "chevy". What is the length of the block compared to the LT-1 or the sbc? What are the comparisons of block widths? Will a gasket kit made for a sbc work on a LS1? Can you interchange the crankshafts? Is the block casting technique the same? Is the firing order the same? Before you come back with some dumb response about this guy says this or that guy says that GO GET US THOSE ANSWERS if you think you're smart enough. Or are you scared you'll find out how ignorant you've been?

sorry im not into chevies. if i was id write a book too. its as simple as this example. chevy made the 350 since 1955. along the way they have made improvments (R&D is supposed to do that) they find the weak points and make them stronger. they make the strong points even stronger. thats why some factory heads flow better then others and factory part X is better then the same part Y ( cranks,cams...) thats why there was hp/torque diffrences between the same size engines in diffrent years. look at the L98,LT1,LT4,LS1,LS6,LS2. why is one better then the other ? this is the evolution of the small block. from 78/9 on pontiac couldnt make their own engines. what other Gm make was making engines? chevy? do you think GM would piss off pontiac fans who buy the t/a,firehawk,formula,whatever by saying its a chevy LS1? you know and i know they wouldnt its not a good marketing move. i dont need technical data to prove that. its called common sense. if you cant understand that i doubt you can understand technical data. what part of the car is pontiac AND pontiac only other then the badge ? why dont you answer that question first. nobody has yet and i doubt anybody ever will. hows that for technical data? besides that im not the one who says "show me a Gm site that says this or says that" and when i bring up a point that several books written about the CHEVY LS1 since its not a "GM book" then it doesnt mean anything to certin people. you say im the one who chooses what/whos writing is and isnt correct? what does that make Mr_GTO? i brought up the point that jim hands book isnt a "GM book" but yet he knows his sh** and people bought it,read it, and learned from it. oh by the way i dont know about you but when i think of pontiac i dont think of a 5.7L. i think of 389,400,421,428,455.
once again tell me what on this car is pontiac other then the badge.
