I think demographics are driving these prices.. All the baby boomers are reaching the age where they've got the money.

30 years from now, GTO's will be worth a lot less (in real dollars) than they are today.. because their market will basically, well, be dead.

As a proof of concept, how much do Model T's cost these days? Not much, cause the people who were 25 when the model T was popular are no longer spending much money.. at least in our world.
