Remote oil filter doesn't seem like a good idea on a street driven car. Takes too long for the oil to get to the bearings on cold starts. There was a guy on here that lunched his bearings going to work on a and he had a remote filter up on the inner fender. Also using a crap fr*m filter. Did not help that he was running a mix of windshield washer fluid and gasoline for emissions reasons. Also dont't mess with the oil filter by-pass. It's there for a reason (cold engine operation and heavy throttle). My 79 with headers has no problem with the stock filter setup and AC or Wix filters. They come off by going up, then aft, then down and out between the body and the exhaust. Can use a broom handle to temporarily force the engine over slightly if necessary.
