Roto was a 4 speed and was listed as such in various Trans books. 1st to 2nd shift was a fluid shift of 2 to 1 for 1st. 1 to 1 for second, then the trans would "shift" to another gear (3rd) then almost kill the engine for the last shift (4th)! Super hydro is a better trans, and seems funny but I didn't beat the heck out of the bottom of my Catalina to put it in. The Turbo 400 that's in the car now needed to be clearanced but the super went right in.
