VID GUY, from what I remember reading, the TH350 bolts right up without any modification to the drive shaft length or moving the crossmember. When I looked at the comparisons I knew that if I was going to get a 400 engine within 6-12 months I would go with the th400, but I've read about guys who have stayed with the th350 and just added a trainny cooler and been fine. The other option is to prep the th350's guts to handle a bigger engine down the road.
Bottom line was, for the 326 engine, it was cheaper to go with the th350 and still get great performance without too much fooling around.
The only thing that you'll need with either setup is the console "plate" for a 3spd and possibly shifter assembly linkage(Shiftworks?).
