While I agree 100% that it may not be the best thing to race on the street especially like it was years ago. However the love of the street race is still out there. Racing on the street is nothing at all like racing at the track. Its like comparing apples to oranges.

When I was in high school we use to have street races set up for select few people. These are the races I used to love to get into. Just you, your opponent and miles of empty road in front of you. Now while I lived in the county and we had many clear roads, old airports, etc... to race on it was alot safer for us. I have been to some city races where it is just insane to watch let alone race with the amount of people and cars around the racers the full length of the roadway.

As with anything else in life its only as safe as the people that are involved.

As I said I can see where alot of trouble can be had with street racing but if its done resposably then the only ones that get hurt (or should) are those that are racing.
