I just sold a good set of '72 fenders. The drivers side had been patched the rear lower portion behind the scoop, but not with a patch panel with a peice of another fender by a professional. Both weren't "mint" but were pretty straight, and already had a little body work into them so they were pretty smooth on the front side.
One sold on ebay for $117.00 and the other for $160.00.
Ebay is the place to find alot of stuff if you are looking for stuff that you can work with a little bit and save a couple bucks.
