also make sure your PS pump bolts are all good and tight first, then do the alternator. Could be when pulling the alternator back your putting pressure on the ps pump and its moving a bit, loosening the ps belt. Make sure nobody left out some tensioning bolts for the ps pump, theres usually a couple of them to hold it in place. actually, I may be thinking of my Olds 455 motor in my cutlass, dont think pontiacs have 2 groove ps pulleys [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif[/img] my bad!
