My manifolds are opened up to 2.5 inches and have worked perfectly. I used the torque tech down pipes and was able to tighten the flanges down before I made the connection to the rest of my system. Some of the manifolds come with 2 bolt flanges, some with 1 side 2 bolt 1 side 3 bolt, mine had both sides 3 bolt flanges which I think makes for a more positive connection.
