Welcome to the Forums.

I recommend that you replace the old hoses with the new "barrier" type 134 hoses and use crimp collars in place of the factory style hose clamps. Then charge your newly sealed a/c system with R-12, which will produce lower discharge temps than a 134 conversion of the factory system.

As in many decisions, "pay me now or pay me later" applies in this case.
