I thought a big part of pontiac popularity for street car was the average guy with a 350 firebird or lemans could score a 455 with decent heads in the junkyard, do a basic rebuild with one of the factory high performance cams, put it in and everthing bolts up fine. He didn't spend much and now he is kicking dust on everyone with that fat torque that comes from cubic inches...... Just what I've observed.
