I also have a 1976 Trans Am. It's a Firethorn Red 455 4 speed car which has been restored to factory appearance. The 1970 YH 455 has been bored, stroked, deck, balanced and fitted with TRW forged flat tops on stock rods. The heads are ported and milled 4Xs with Ferrea 2.11/1.77" stainless valves and 1.6 full roller rockers from Nunzi. The camshaft is a Nunzi 2042HL rated at 235/[email protected] with .490/.500" lift with the 1.6 rockers. Induction consists of a rejetted 1971 455 HO 800cfm Q-jet and a 1972 455 HO aluminum intake. The exhaust is handled by repro RA d-port manifolds hogged to 2 1/2" with 2 1/4" pipes with 3 chamber Flowmaster true duals. On its first time out, the car ran a traction limited best of [email protected] with 60ft of 2.347. A Torque Tech 2 1/2" system, 2 chamber DeltaFlow Flowmasters and 1974 chrome exhaust extensions will be added within the next month. The cars can be seen at: http://www.geocities.com/rotella31/TransAm.html
