I use the angled fitting and a short filter but there is no way I could get that thing in past my headers, I have tried, and since I change the oil after every week...it would be REALLY inconvenient to have to remove the header every time. I have 1 more housing to try and that's it. If it works, then great, if not...there is something else wrong.
