polishing and shot peening stock rods are a waste of $ because you could have bought forged rods for the $ spent...especially if the rods are hi milers... get forged rods already prepped from a reputable shop...NOT UNPREPPED(unfinished) OFF OF EBAY!!! you dont build a house on a weak foundation, correct?
